I was very disappointed for the time I could not use the Audible app on my computer. I am happy again with the app. I don't like using the browser. I like to listend a book at home, while working, in the car, or while I travel. i want to be able to open the book anywhere I am listen with the device at hand. To preface, I'm referring to the desktop version of the app. The books play, playback speed works fine, rewinds and all that is good. Imagine that a car that successfully gets you from point A to B daily. Unfortuntately, the car's paint is chipped, the radio has a broken seek button, and no mechanic seems to know what's wrong with it.
What I mean by all that is, the app just isn't pleasant to look at or navigate. Covers are small, title details is a pain to navigate to, and generally the layout feels like it should involve more hovering and less clicking. The app does the bare minumum in regards to book recommendations and selecting from categories. It's to the point that I always use the mobile version to find books and use the desktop just for listening. Additionally, many of the issues you may face seem to be the first time the problem is encountered because the FAQs aren't very helpful for a given situation. Lastly, the app seems to have trouble syncing back and forth between desktop and mobile versions. I have to read two different books on each platform, which is troublesome when I'm in the middle of a series and can't pick back up unless I'm in a position to leave my computer on for hours. This is my prefered audiobook service. Just be sure and use all your credits if you cancel you subscription.
